Check these before relying on a payout
- Step 1
Use an account in your own name
Save a Nigerian bank account you control and recognise. A payout to someone else's account is difficult to unwind and is a common scam pattern.
- Step 2
Check the account number digit by digit
Read the saved number against your bank's own record rather than from memory. One wrong digit sends the payout somewhere else.
- Step 3
Confirm the bank itself, not just the number
The same number can exist at different institutions. Check the bank shown on the order matches the bank holding your account.
- Step 4
Read the destination on the order preview
The preview shows the destination the payout will use. Confirm it there, before the order exists, rather than after.
- Step 5
Allow for your bank's own posting time
An order reporting a payout as sent is ebitpoint's side finishing. Your bank may still take time to make the credit visible.
The destination carries the whole payout
In Nigeria the naira from a sale lands in a bank account, so the saved destination is the single most important detail on the order. Everything else can be right and the payout will still go to the wrong place if the account number is wrong.
Read the number against your bank's own record rather than from memory or an old note. Then check the bank name too, because the same digits can belong to an account at a different institution.
Why the account should be yours
Paying out to an account in someone else's name removes your ability to resolve a problem. If the money arrives somewhere unintended, recovering it depends entirely on that account holder.
It is also a recurring shape in fraud: a stranger arranges a sale, then asks for the payout to go to an account they control. Treat that request as a warning rather than a convenience.
Sent is not the same as posted
When an order reports the payout as sent, ebitpoint has finished its side. Your bank then posts the credit on its own schedule, and that gap is where most payout questions come from.
Give the bank a reasonable window before treating an order as failed. If the delay goes well beyond what the order described, contact Support with the reference rather than starting another sale.
Changing details safely
Update saved bank details from inside your signed-in account, and do it between orders rather than during one. Check the change took effect before you create the next sale.
Be cautious about any message asking you to change a payout destination, especially one arriving by chat, social media, or an unexpected call. Genuine changes start with you, inside your own account.
