How to sell Ethereum in Nigeria, step by step
- Step 1
Save a Nigerian bank destination you control
Complete the account checks shown to you and save a bank account in your own name. The naira payout goes to that destination, so check it before you start.
- Step 2
Select Ethereum and the amount
Open Sell, choose Ethereum (ETH), and enter the amount. Note any minimum shown if you intend to fund the sale with an external transfer.
- Step 3
Check the network before you send
Ether can exist on more than one network. Send on the network the order names. A transfer sent on a different network does not arrive as the order expects it.
- Step 4
Review the NGN quote and the destination together
Read the ETH amount, the naira payout, the bank destination, and any fee or timing note in one pass before creating the order.
- Step 5
Fund the order and keep the transaction hash
Use your ebitpoint balance, or send ETH to the order's address while the deposit window is open. Save the transaction hash either way.
- Step 6
Watch the order to completion
The order page shows detection, confirmation and settlement. A completed status means the naira payout has been sent to your bank destination.
The network is the part most often got wrong
Ether and Ethereum-based tokens can be moved on several different networks. They often share the same address format, which makes a wrong-network transfer easy to make and hard to notice until the funds do not arrive.
The order tells you which network to use. Read it, match it in your sending wallet, and do not rely on what a previous order used or on what another exchange defaults to.
What the naira quote actually represents
The quote on an Ethereum sell order pairs a specific ETH amount with a specific naira payout. It is not a promise about the market price in general, and it is not the same as a rate you saw on a chart or in an advert.
Read the preview in full each time. If the numbers are not what you expected, close the order rather than sending a transfer and hoping the difference resolves itself.
Funding from a balance versus an external wallet
If ETH is already sitting in your ebitpoint account, a wallet-funded sale removes the blockchain step and its waiting period entirely. There is no address to copy and no network to choose.
An external deposit is the right choice when the ETH is held elsewhere, but it puts the transfer in your hands. Send the right asset, on the right network, to the order's own address, inside its deposit window.
After the payout
Keep the order reference and the transaction hash together with your own bank record. Those three things let Support trace a sale end to end without you needing to share anything sensitive.
If a payout does not appear when the order says it was sent, check the bank details saved on the order first. Most delays come from a destination that was mistyped or belongs to someone else.
