How to sell TRON (TRX) in Nigeria
- Step 1
Check TRX is eligible to sell
Read the supported catalogue before planning a sale. Eligibility is per asset and can change.
- Step 2
Select TRX and the amount
Open Sell, choose TRX, and enter the amount. Note any minimum shown if you will fund the sale externally.
- Step 3
Choose the funding path
Use an available ebitpoint TRX balance, or send from an external wallet. Follow only the instructions for the option you chose.
- Step 4
Read the naira payout and bank destination
Check the TRX amount, the naira figure, and the saved Nigerian bank account together before creating the order.
- Step 5
Send TRX, not USDT on TRON
The two share an address format and are constantly confused. Send the asset the order names and keep the transaction hash.
TRX and the network it belongs to
TRX is TRON's native asset. TRON is also one of the most heavily used networks for moving USDT, particularly in Nigeria, because transfers on it are cheap.
That popularity is exactly why TRX gets confused. Many people who say they hold TRON actually hold USDT that lives on TRON, which is a different asset entirely.
Why the address will not warn you
TRX and USDT-on-TRON share the same address format, because they share the same network. An address that looks correct is correct โ for the network. It says nothing about which asset you are about to send.
So the usual safety check people rely on, that the address looks right, does not protect you here. The check that matters is the asset selector in your wallet.
If an order was created for TRX and USDT arrives instead, the transfer confirms and the order does not credit. Sorting it out is manual and takes time.
Fees on TRON
TRON transfers are usually inexpensive, which is a large part of why it became the default network for moving stablecoins in this region.
Low fees are helpful but they are not the whole picture: what matters for a sale is the amount that actually arrives, after whatever the network takes. The order is measured against what lands, not what you intended to send.
What the naira figure depends on
TRX is not a stablecoin, so its dollar price moves independently. The naira side moves too, with the dollar-naira rate.
Both can change between the moment you plan a sale and the moment you confirm it. Read the figure on the order preview rather than relying on one you saw earlier.
Before you confirm
Read the TRX amount, the naira payout and the destination bank account together on the order preview.
Fix a wrong destination before creating the order. A payout sent to the account recorded on the order is not reversible by the platform.
