How to enter your Mobile Money transaction reference
- Step 1
Pay only the account on the final review
Lock the quote, then pay the exact amount to the ebitpoint Mobile Money or bank account the final review shows, before the quote expires.
- Step 2
Find the transaction ID on your receipt
For Mobile Money, look in the SMS receipt your provider sends after the payment. For a bank transfer, use the transaction ID on the bank receipt.
- Step 3
Enter the reference exactly as issued
Type or paste the full code into Transaction reference / code. It must be at least six characters; do not shorten it or add extra words.
- Step 4
Add a note if something was different
Use the optional note to ebitpoint for useful context, for example that you paid from a different Mobile Money number than usual.
- Step 5
Correct or support the reference later if needed
While the order is still waiting for payment, open it and use Payment proof to correct the reference or attach a screenshot of the receipt.
Why the buy order asks for a transaction reference
On ebitpoint you pay for a buy order directly, by Mobile Money or bank transfer, to the ebitpoint account selected for that order. The transaction reference is how your payment is matched to the right order: ebitpoint checks it against its own account records before releasing any crypto.
That is why the reference matters as much as the amount. A shortened or mistyped code makes the payment harder to match, while the order's payment confirmation deadline keeps running.
Where to find the code after paying
For a Mobile Money payment, the transaction ID appears in the SMS receipt your provider sends after the payment goes through. For a bank transfer, use the transaction ID shown on the bank's receipt or confirmation.
Copy the code from the receipt for the payment you just made for this order. A reference from an older payment, or one already attached to another ebitpoint order, will not match.
Paying from a different number or account
If you paid from a Mobile Money number or bank account that is not the one you normally use, say so in the optional note to ebitpoint on the order review. It gives the team useful context when matching the payment.
Pay the exact amount the final review shows, so the receipt and its reference match the order.
Correcting a reference and adding proof
While an order is still waiting for payment, its page has a Payment proof section. Use it to correct a reference you typed wrongly, or to attach a screenshot of the receipt in JPEG, PNG, or WebP format.
A screenshot supports the check but does not confirm the payment by itself. Staff still confirm the payment from ebitpoint's own records, and the order status will change once they have.
Keep the reference private and the PIN to yourself
Share the transaction reference only inside your signed-in order or a signed-in Support request. Never share your Mobile Money PIN, a one-time code, your ebitpoint password, or a wallet recovery phrase with anyone offering help.
If you suspect Mobile Money fraud, contact your provider through its official reporting channel. For the ebitpoint order itself, keep the order reference and the transaction reference and use signed-in Support.
