Crypto fees and limits in Ghana: what to check before paying

Separate the quoted rate, platform charges, blockchain fees and payment-provider costs, then check the limit available to your account.

Start with what leaves and what arrives

Before a purchase, write down the GHS you will pay and the crypto your chosen destination will receive. Before a sale, check the crypto being used and the GHS payout. Comparing only a headline rate can miss a fee deducted later or a cost charged by the wallet or payment provider you use.

Two quotes are comparable only when they describe the same asset, amount, network, destination and point in time. A BTC market price in dollars is not itself a promise of the amount available to buy or sell for Ghana cedis. The signed-in final review is where you check the transaction you are about to submit.

Separate the rate from separately listed fees

ebitpoint buy and sell rates include its margin. Read any separate platform charge listed in the final review as well. A difference between a buy rate and a sell rate does not tell you that a separate fee is zero, or that another provider will offer the same final amount.

For a Bitcoin purchase delivered to an external address, a network fee is deducted from the Bitcoin purchased. Review the net delivery amount before accepting the quote. Delivery to an account wallet and delivery on a blockchain are different routes; compare the route you actually plan to use.

Check external-wallet sale deductions

When funding a Bitcoin sale from another wallet, that wallet may charge you to send. The sell deposit can also have a network or processing deduction when it is processed; the GHS payout is based on the amount left. Review the order fee and payout, and check whether the sending wallet subtracts its charge from your intended deposit or adds it to the total you spend.

Selling Bitcoin already in your ebitpoint wallet does not require an on-chain deposit for that sale, so that path has no blockchain network fee. Always review the actual funding source and final quote instead of carrying assumptions from an earlier external-wallet order.

Mobile Money charges are a separate check

Your Mobile Money or bank provider may show its own charge before you authorize a transfer. Read that provider confirmation alongside the ebitpoint order amount. If the provider charges extra, check that you still have enough to pay the exact order amount; do not reduce the payment to offset a charge without instructions from Support.

Use only the receiving payment account on the current buy order. For a sale, check the saved payout destination and expected GHS amount. Keep the provider transaction reference and your order reference so a payment can be traced if the status needs review.

Use your available limit, not an old advertised number

Account limits can depend on verification level, transaction type and activity already counted toward a period. The remaining allowance can therefore differ from a level's headline maximum. Check your signed-in limits and the order review before transferring funds. Completing identity verification does not remove every limit or guarantee acceptance of a transaction.

If the amount exceeds your allowance, follow the account's verification or support route. Do not split transactions to avoid a limit. Send documents only through the secure account flow; a request for a password, one-time code or recovery phrase is not a legitimate way to increase a limit.

Pause when the figures no longer match

Refresh an expired quote before paying. If you have already paid or sent crypto and the order has not updated, follow the existing order and contact signed-in Support with its reference and the payment reference or transaction ID. Sending again can create a second payment rather than solve the first one.

Save a record of the accepted quote, destination and references. That record helps distinguish an amount changed by a new quote, an external provider charge, a blockchain deduction and a transaction still being checked. Avoid sharing full payment details or identity documents in public comments.
